I don't know if this fits in here properly and as some of you will know I very rarely discuss soccer, so true to form may I indulge you.
Wayne Rooney.
In preperation for the Euro-qualifier against Switzerland (and how many England players would know which hemisphere that Island resides in ?) it would seem, remarkably, that all is not well in Fabio's camp.
Alas it has come to pass that Wayne has been sleeping with a "Lady of the night".
So as NMOB's unofficial European correspondant may I inform you that the competition for Europe's most stupid Soccer Team is hotting up (was going to say tottying up).
The play-offs will uniquely involve three sides only :
England - France - Italy

Place your bets now !

Lazar, agree with you that Big Mo is going to have some work to do getting his front 3 to track back. Ronaldo may be in the best shape ever, but I have a felling that's more for the ladies at the beach than tracking back on D.

Victor, agree with you about the need for a center forward. Higuain struggled with his shots, but he was active and overall positive. Benzema was terrible. Haven't seen him play a good game since 2008.

Ozil and Khedira looked pretty good though. Ozil in particular got involved right away, and made sme nice passes. Would like to see him shoot more. I think we will soon see Ozil replace Canales (love him) in the starting 11, and Khedira may end up bumping Lass to right back so he can play next to Xabi.

I believe that Real Madrid is missing a center forward who can impose his will in the penalty area. Higain and Benzema need people who create for them..Ronaldowants to do everything, create, dribble and finish the play by himself. The German players are used to play at a very fast tempo, in Madrid the game is much slower. I do not think that they will adjust, they are more fitted to the English game.

Well, Ronaldo will have plenty of time for normal behaviour now he's injured again.
I just hope he's fit enough to crawl into the cresh and change the immaculate conception's diapers.

Ramos was teeeewwwible today. I've never understood why people love him. Yes, he's an incredible athlete and has good skills, but his decisions are bad and he makes one gigantic, mammoth eff up per game.

Also, I can't believe this is a Mourinho team. Lots of attackers out there who don't like to defend. Spain is different than Italy or England because you have teams that know how to defend (unlike England) but still allow themselves to attack occasionally (unlike Italy). This will be an interesting year.

Finally, I think Cristiano Ronaldo spent the last month and a half doing pushups and situps. He's beginning to look like the Terminator. Someone needs to introduce him to television, beer, and potato chips, stat!

True !
I've just peered into it again, and despite England's soccer heroics, as a country they become the first ever to enter Fourth World, much to the despair of Queen Waynewooney of Tatto-Shire and her husband, the Right Honourable Joe Blatter-Wisdom Cole.
Don't worry ! I've now smashed my crystal ball, I through it to Robert Green during a light training session.
